Please check if you have the association in the class. If the class hasn't any @uml.associationEnd tags in class members, the classs hasn't associations.

If I right click on a class I have an association menu entry but it has only the subentries:
"Layout classes"
"Select classes"
"Group classes"
and those are disabled. So I suspect my associations ... |

I had the same trouble and resolved it by deleting the "eval.license" file and renaming my academic license file to "eval.license". After a restart of Eclipse my Evaluation License change to Academic. ... |
