|

Hi all,
I am brand new to EclipseUml and currently experimenting with class diagrams. I am using:
Eclipse 3.1
Omondo UML 1.2.1
EMF 2.1
GEF 3.1
First problem: creating associations. Is there any way to change the association's (e.g. adding arrows, changing lable text etc.) properties through some property window? Double-clicking the association or right-clicking and choosing properties doesn't have any effect whatsoever.
Second problem: when I restart eclipse and reload a previously saved class diagram, I get an error message saying for each association "Association (name) not found". For each related AssociationEnd there is a similar message. And indeed, when opening the diagram, all associations have mysteriously disappeared!
Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance!

Hello,
Like in the "Associations arn't displayed" post the associationcan't be viewed twice.
They can be created, there are still present in the .class but not displayed on the .ucd.
Exploring with the association link _a.ucd they are back but this diagram is not the original one ?
Is the opening .ucd algorithm the same as the Class Association explorer one ?
Quite a hard problem in order to do real business with the tool...
Cheers,
Skaith.

Hello,
Using the resulting .ucd from the Class Association Explorer and renaming it without the _a seem to solve the problem.
This time it's rebuild the diagram according to the .java structure. Strange....
I'm not sure this workaround is stable...but could solve for rapid fix...
Bad behaviour reproductible by Omondo support team ?
Cheers,
Skaith.

It is right way.

I have just tested. It works as expected: see the attached project.

Hi guys,
I tried the suggested workaround, but no success. First of all, when creating the diagram using the Class Association Explorer, associations are not visible in the generated diagram. So I had to add them manually.
After this step: same behaviour as before. As long as I don't close Eclipse I can open and close the diagram without any problem. Renaming the ucd file just doesn't do the trick for me.
Are there any log files created in such situations that can be of any help? If so, where can I find them?
Cheers,

Hi,
the project association doesn't work with the free edition!
But I have the same problem with EMF class diagrams. If I open the properties of an association and press Ok (without any changes) the dialog is still shown. Only Cancel will close the dialog. After pressing Ok in the Error Log are two new entries. The log file is attached.
Hope this helps,
Sven

In general, the GUI codes are completely difference between UML and EMF for association. If you are sure it is a bug, please report it to with a testcase.
