I'm working through the UML for J2EE turorial and noticed that the J2EE Profile allows me to chose only between webdoclet and ejbdoclet, whereas the screen shot shows several others (e.g., hibernatedoclet).

I've browsed the documentation and didn't spot anything that would answer my questions:

(1) How and when are the other options supported?
(2) What do I need to configure to extend the options for J2EE Profile?
(3) Where do I find documentation on that subject?

Thanks for any answers.

Regards,

Andreas

Hello,

We are trying to have a native integration as much as possible.
If you need more information, please read XDoclet documentation and you will be able to do it inside Eclipse.
XDoclet is a great technology !!!!, for example we are using XDcolet tags inside EclipseUML Studio.
Using these tags will allow a tighter integration between UML / XDoclet. We are currently adding full Hibernate support using both POJO and XDcolet approach. That means bottom up from data to model through POJO and then Top down from model to mappings using XDcolet.
Finally the iterative approach is to naviguate from data to model, from model to data through code generation, connect everything with an independant Torque/Hibernate XML model, being able to reuse different mappings solutions, import/export different model, from over 25 different relational database .
The first delivery of this integration wll be available at the end of june, and we expect to have a feature completed XDcolet/Hibernate/Torque/OJB/(JDO through other ISV) database tool by the end of october 2004.
I think it is what many of us were expecting, is-it right ?

Vlad,
