Hmm.. call me stupid, but I don't have a clue.. I want to have a look at how this software works.. Been working with eclipse for some time (but I'm still a newbie), but now I'm diving into UML.. I have a problem using or installing the Studio however..

WHAT DID I DO?

Since I use Eclipse 3.0, I guess I'm supposed to use (try) the Studio instead of the free version?

Well, I took a new system, and installed the Java 1.5.0-beta JRE. I installed the latest build of Eclipse (eclipse-SDK-I20040520-win32.zip), and then I installed the EMF SDK. (emf-sdo-xsd-SDK-I200405200923.zip). Everything looks fine.

I installed the Studio using the auto-installer (eclipseUML_21x_studioEdition-installer_1.0.0.20040510.jar).

When I look at eclipse > about > plug-ins, I see 15 Omondo plug-ins.

WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?

But when I create a new project according to the 'getting started' guide, and I'm ready to add an UML diagram, I can't. I select new > other > but I don't see anything about UML in the list.

can anybody help me? Am I doing something wrong or making wrong assumptions?

First, you should use Eclipse 3 M8 stable release instead of the integeration build or nightly build: eclipse-DSK-3.0M8-.zip.

Second, the eclipseUML_21x_studioEdition-installer_1.0.0.20040510.jar is for Eclipse 21x. You should use eclipseUML_3M8_studioEdition-installer_1.0.0.20040510.jar

Can I only use the Studio, or does the free version also work with M8?

Any idea when either versions will work with M9?
