I wonder if I can use Japanese in UML diagrams. I tried it in a sequence diagram but Japanese did not displayed well even it displayed in properties view. Do I need to do any setting to use Japanese?
thanks,

I guess it is simply a display and exporting font choice problem.
When I write Japanese character in "note", eclipseUML outputs correctly
into **.ucd file, although it doesn't display nor export.
EclipseUML seems to use "Arial" font by hard-coding, which prevent
displaying Japanese character.
I request eclipseUML to be font-selectable. We do want to write "note" in Japanese character.

Dear Japanese Users,
We have more than 20.000 Japanese Users, and would like to thank all of you using EclipseUML Free Edition. We are currently working in translating EclipseUML Free Edition software into Japanese Language. We hope it would be ready before next September.
We also want to add Japanese characters directly inside your diagrams. We need your help for that (please contact if you are interested to become beta tester).
Others contries did the beta test, and it works.
best regards,

With our last build, it should be possible to display in unicode. But the only one limitation to resolve is the image export.

Thank you for your work. In fact, we have succeeded to display Japanese character on Win2K by doing this hacking:
Using "regedt32", add new REG_MULTI_SZ value "Arial" to below registry key:
Code: |
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT
\CurrentVersion\FontLink\SystemLink |
, and the value string is:
Code: |
MSGOTHIC.TTC,MS UI Gothic |
("MSGOTHIC" is a Japanese font.)
In brief, we made a new font alias for "Arial".
We wait for julien resolving the limitation of image export problem.
regards,

Hello,
I am using Eclipse 2.1 and EclipseUML on a Japanese OS with a Japanese JVM, but I would like to use EclipseUML in English. Eclipse is already in English, just all EclipseUML menu items are in Japanese.
Please help,
Dies

Hello dies,
Please do not download our japanese translation pack and your Eclipse should be in English.
